Databases
Ruby Dunes Hosting Service supports several powerful SQL implementations
for Webmaster users to deploy as part of their Web applications.
The "classic" mSQL 1 is currently still
supported on all servers, although it is considered deprecated and support
will eventually be discontinued.
The latest version of mSQL 2 is
supported on a limited set of newer servers, primarily because it will not
co-exist with mSQL 1. Specifically, it is not practical to maintain
separate versions of PHP and Perl in order to support
the two generations of mSQL.
For serious database projects, we can only
recommend the use of MySQL, which is currently supported on
our dedicated database server pool.
Please note that use of our database services is restricted to
Webmaster accounts only, but that there is no charge for normal
usage of database resources.
Specific restrictions on usage levels will be implemented in the near
future.

Hughes Technology Support Library.
For more information on MySQL, please visit the
MySQL home page or one of its
mirrors.
