Our E-Commerce Account is an improved variation of the
Webmaster Account, designed
specifically to support growing sites, commerce developers, and
ShopSite installations. It includes increased disk space and traffic allowances,
as well as the Secure Server service (which normally costs extra) needed to accept sensitive information from site visitors.
ShopSite is an online store creation system from Open Market
that merchants can use to create and maintain online storefronts.
How is this account better than the Webmaster Account?
The increased disk and traffic allowances accommodate a growing site,
while the bundled Secure Server and development tools are ideal
for resellers and developers working on their own commerce solutions.
Can I buy an E-Commerce Account but not use ShopSite?
Absolutely. This account has many uses other than ShopSite.
What happened to the Commerce SS Account type?
It was replaced with the general-purpose E-Commerce Account.
Existing users were converted over, and the price was lowered. The
account is no longer closely tied to ShopSite licenses.
Note that all standard features of the
E-Commerce Account are the same
as the Webmaster Account.
